Insurance companies in Ontario now turn down the percentage increase in the demand assessment and treatment of serious injuries (non-minor) are powered by a motor vehicle accident victims, according to a survey of Ontario rehabilitation providers.
Alliance medical and rehabilitation community providers commissioned the survey, which was promoted in the press release on January 19, while a number is not known when the survey is conducted. The Alliance represents about 80 companies and approximately 3,500 health care providers including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, chiropractors, psychologists, rehabilitation therapists, social workers, aid workers and personal case manager.
The survey found that rehabilitation provider of 1,143 42% of the demand for treatments that are now rejected-up from just 11% of the time before the Government changes to the insurance system in September 2010.
“It is a leap of 282%,” the Alliance said in a press release announcing the results of the survey.
